If your institution has a paid Desmos upgrade, you may be able to add a Desmos Sine and Cosine question to an item bank. After you select the question type, you can use the LaTeX editor to add details for the question, view a student preview, and verify auto-grading is working correctly. Once the question is published to an item bank, you can add the question to an assessment.
Note: If you do not see the Desmos Items (Paid Upgrade) section in the Question Type drop-down menu, your institution does not have a paid Desmos upgrade.
Open Item Bank

In Global Navigation, click the Assessments link [1], then click the Item Bank link [2].
Add Question Title

Enter a title for the question.
Select Sine and Cosine Graphs Question Type

If your institution has a paid Desmos upgrade, you may be able to add Desmos item types to your item bank. Click the Question Type drop-down menu [1], and select the Sine and Cosine Graphs Question option [2].
Add Item Details

Select the remaining details for your question using the drop-down menus [1]. Items marked with an asterisk are required.
After you have finalized the question details, click the Continue button [2].
Compose Question

To add question details, type in the Compose Question field [1]. To add math equations and expressions, click the LaTeX icon [2] and use the options to enter the expression details.
Set Example Answer

To set an example answer, click and drag the points to the correct positions [1]. Begin with the Sine Curve or Cosine Curve point [2].
Set Properties

To adjust the question parameters, select options from the question properties [1].
To view additional question options, click the More options drop-down menu [2].
Modify Graph and More Options

In the Modify Graph section, click and drag the points to create a graph for students to start with when answering the question [1]. You can modify graph settings, expressions, and parameters.
To define parameters for the graph, type in the Expression fields [2].
To adjust font size, click the font size menu and select a size option [3].
View Student Preview

The Preview pane displays the question as it will be seen and interacted with by students.
To test the auto-grading tool, click and drag the points [1]. When the correct answer is configured, the Points icon will be shaded [2].
To view the correct answer in the Preview pane, click the Show Answers checkbox [3].
Save Question

When you have finalized the details for the question, you can save the details.
To save a draft of the question, click the Save As Draft button [1].
To publish the question to the item bank and make it available to add to an assessment, click the Publish button [2].
