If your institution has a paid Desmos upgrade, you may be able to add a Desmos Two Variable Linear Inequality question to an item bank. After you select the question type, you can use the LaTeX editor to add details for the question, view a student preview, and verify auto-grading is working correctly. Once the question is published to an item bank, you can add the question to an assessment.
Note: If you do not see the Desmos Items (Paid Upgrade) section in the Question Type drop-down menu, your institution does not have a paid Desmos upgrade.
Open Item Bank
In Global Navigation, click the Assessments link , then click the Item Bank link .
Add Question Title
Enter a title for the question.
Select Two Variable Linear Inequality Question Type
If your institution has a paid Desmos upgrade, you may be able to add Desmos item types to your item bank. Click the Question Type drop-down menu , and select the Two Variable Linear Inequality Question option .
Add Item Details
Select the remaining details for your question using the drop-down menus . Items marked with an asterisk are required.
After you have finalized the question details, click the Continue button .
To add question details, type in the Compose Question field . To add math equations and expressions, click the LaTeX icon  and use the options to enter the expression details.
Set Example Answer
To set an example answer, select the Graph Shading options , then click and drag the points to the correct positions .
To adjust the question parameters, select options from the question properties .
To view additional question options, click the More options drop-down menu .
Modify Graph and More Options
In the Modify Graph section, click and drag the points to create a graph for students to start with when answering the question . You can modify graph settings, expressions, and parameters.
To define parameters for the graph, type in the Expression fields .
To adjust font size, click the font size menu and select a size option .
View Student Preview
The Preview pane displays the question as it will be seen and interacted with by students.
To test the auto-grading tool, click and drag the points . When the correct answer is configured, the Points icon will be shaded .
To view the correct answer in the Preview pane, click the Show Answers checkbox .
When you have finalized the details for the question, you can save the details.
To save a draft of the question, click the Save As Draft button .
To publish the question to the item bank and make it available to add to an assessment, click the Publish button .
