Default standard descriptions are written by their associated standards authority. However, as the owner of a curriculum map, you can customize or reword a standard description from the map.
Student reports display both the default and custom descriptions. However, you can customize a report to only display custom descriptions.
- Only the owner of a district-approved curriculum map customize or reword standard descriptions from the map.
- You can also customize or reword standard descriptions from a tracker.
In the Global Navigation Menu, click the Maps link , then click the Curriculum Maps link .
Open View/Customize Standard
Locate the standard you want to view or customize. Hover over the Standard Options icon , then click the View/Customize Standard option .
View Default Standard
In the window, you can view the default standard, including its academic domain , strand  and description .
Enter Custom Description
Enter a customized description in the Customize/Reword Standard field .
By default, both the original and the customized description display on student reports. However, to make your custom standard description the only description that displays, click the Make the customized standard the default view for Parent/Student reports checkbox .
To save the customized description options, click the Save button .
View Custom Description
View your custom description from the curriculum map.
Report, printouts, and trackers also display the customized standard description.
